This hard drive is taken from an XBOX base unit. The hard drive is used. It is unlocked so that it can be used in e.g. a PC. If you have an unmodified xbox then it is not possible to simply mount another hard drive, the new hard drive must be "locked" with the same key as the existing hard drive AND prepared with a working "operating system" for the xbox.
