How do the cards work?
DS / DSI
All development cards for DS / Dsi pretend to be a game, which in turn starts its own operating system, where you can choose what you want to do eg: start homebrews, listen to music or watch movies
These flash cards require you to download system files that you place on a MicroSD memory card. This is also where you place homebrews and applications to run on your base unit.

You can find the system files in our forum or on the manufacturer's website (link is on the box)

3DS
The flash card that is used to start 3D games on the 3DS consoles works differently.

The older flash cards based on the GateWay 3DS (R4i Gold 3DS Deluxe, MTCard, 3DS link and DSTWOPLUS) depend on the console having a system version with a known security hatch that can be used to get the card's menus started. In some cases, the console can be downgraded to a usable system version in order to boot the card. Even if the console has a low system version, you can then start a higher version from the memory card so that the latest games work.

The more modern Sky3DS + and Stargate 3DS do not depend on security gaps in the system. You also don't get any menus for selecting games. Instead, the card has physical buttons that you press, each time you press the button, the next game is selected from the memory card and pops up on the console's screen. The advantage is that this card works on ALL 2DS / 3DS / 3DS XL / New 3ds / New 3ds XL regardless of system version, the disadvantage is that only games compiled to 3DS format work.
For 3DS, we especially recommend "Luma CFW" as it gives the best access to the developer / homebrew console. There are now plenty of really good emulators that can utilize all the hardware and memory in 3DS and especially New 3DS. This is not a flash card but a custom firmware variant.

Since future updates to the 3DS are very likely to contain protection that will cause the flash card to stop working, you may have to wait for new updates from the manufacturer of the card you have. We cannot promise that all manufacturers will always succeed.
