PSJailbreak USB development kit

New: Now you can reprogram your psjailbreak USB dongle so that it can be used to put the Playstation 3 into service mode. With the help of files from psjailbreak.com you can then downgrade from eg. 3.50 or 3.42 to e.g. 3:41.

2011-01-04 The manufacturer of psjailbreak has not had their servers / websites up and running since the end of December 2010. Because of this, it is not possible to download the files needed to flash their psjailbreak to a psdowngrade right now and we do not know if / when the servers come up again.

2010-12-08 We have now seen reports that it is not only we who have had problems with BLURAY FILM after the downgrade. If you already have system version 3.41 and "jailbreak" - back up / dev_flash2 and / dev / flash3 via FTP so that you can restore the support if for any reason you upgrade and then downgrade again.

You do NOT have to pay more to use the extra function, BUT you can if you want us to request that we deliver your psjailbreak ready to use as a "psdowngrade" which we charge extra 100: - for. It is easy to do this yourself, but we have customers who would like us to deliver it.

Note that the contents of the hard drive are erased when downgrading, so make backups of all gamesaves etc!

When you are done with the service mode / downgrade you can reprogram it again. You use PsJailbreak Updater for the procedure, downloaded here .

"Updater" reads the serial number of your psjailbreak and then downloads two files.

PROG _ ########. Fla is "psjailbreak".

UPGRADER _ ######. Fla is "psdowngrade".

If you want, we can post PSDOWNGRADE before we deliver your psjailbreak. Ideal if you just want to use your psjailbreak to perform downgrade / utilize service mode. This costs an extra 100 SEK. If you want to get in with your PS3 to get it downgraded (psjailbreak NOT included) it costs 350: - without us backing up your gamesaves or 500: - including backup / restore of gamesaves.

History:

The idea behind PSJailbreak was first and foremost to get a new opportunity to start "homebrew" - ie self-developed unsigned code on the current console. A feature that many people lost from their console when the feature to install an alternate operating system was removed during one of the latest system upgrades. One of the first and most important applications was FTP SERVER, which made it possible to use its console for storing optional files in its home network. Of course, someone has written a version of the arcade game's ancestor PONG. We also looked forward to all emulators of classic games, first was an emulator that made it possible to play SNES, there was also an emulator for Sega Saturn.

Using this product on the current video game console risked:

- The product's function ceases as soon as the console is updated. Updates can be installed when you go online, when you start a new game from disc or if you intentionally download an update and install from eg. a USB flash drive.

- You couldn't play newer games as they require updating before starting.
